There’s an important change to the way the Kounta calculates Stock Movements that are going live!
Today, your stock now leaves your inventory as soon as the order is sent, instead of when the sale is closed.
We have previously only ever calculated your Stock Movements based on the Sale closing.
For Account Sales and Open Orders, that’s obviously always been sub-optimal, as any products on those orders have left your inventory in real life but we’ve not been keeping track of that perfectly.
We have now fixed this limitation and from this afternoon onwards all the places that you see the stock count of a product will be referencing the new Stock Movements table, which is updated based on the Order events, not the Sales.
We realise this seems like a small thing, some of you won’t know or care what we mean, but for some of you this is a huge improvement, and for us, it’s the culmination of a very long and difficult process, but this new foundation allows us to use this data much more powerfully moving forward.
